Stuffed Pork Chops on the Treager!

We (I bought for Rod) a Treager Grill. It is a smoker grill that uses wood pellets.  In case you do not have a smoker grill, this recipe can be done in the oven as well.

I made my own stuffing after I read the ingredients on the  boxed type stuffing mixes!  Stuff --- you really don't want to eat.  Just make a basic bread stuffing that you like in a smaller version.  Kind of like you would make for Thanksgiving.  Mine was bread crumbs, chicken broth, celery, onion, and sausage.

Buy the thick cut pork chops.  Cut a pocket in the side of each chop and fill with the stuffing.

Rub the outside and both sides with your favorite seasoning or rub. Place in a foil lined baking dish.

Now on to the Treager grill.  Heated to 325 degrees.  Should cook for 45 - 50 minutes.  Check the times on your grill.

Well, time is up and it is time for dinner. Brown and wild rice and steamed green beans.

Enjoy friends!

Grilled Brussels Sprouts with Whole Grain Mustard

We've been anxiously awaiting spring, like most of you. One of our favorite spring veggies is brussels sprouts.  Thanks to a blog on Pinterest, "Rosemarried",  I've found a recipe for grilling them.  Check this out!

In a pot of boiling water, blanch the brussels sprouts for about 3 to 5 minutes.  Remove from the boiling water and plunge into ice water to stop the cooking and keep the bright green color.  Pat dry and trim off the bottom stems and outer leaves.

Mix together 2 Tbls of whole grain mustard, 2 Tbls olive oil, and some salt and pepper.
This will be the marinate.

Toss the brussel sprouts in and marinate for 30 minutes.

Next get your skewers ready.  I tried the bamboo skewers, but these metal ones worked better.

Here's a close up!  I think they look so pretty!

When the coals are nice and hot, place the skewered sprouts on and grill for 3 to 5 minutes per side.
The charring is the delicious part!

Enjoy immediately friends!
